Coccygectomy – For tailbone that seems to be resistant to the conventional modes of treatment, surgery in the form of coccygectomy is usually indicated. Coccygectomy involves the removal of the coccyx. Doing so would provide lifetime relief from coccydynia. Nonetheless, there have been repercussions of the procedure. Coccyx surgeries oftentimes have poor success rate. Thus, this mode of treatment is not commonly indicated.
